Cold Rolled Hot Dipped Galvanized Steel Coil is a Galvanized Steel coil produced based on Cold Rolled Steel Coil.
In the regular trading of galvanized sheets, cold-rolled basic Galvanized Products are the main products, and hot-rolled substrates are relatively rare. So, what is the difference between hot-rolled substrates and cold-rolled substrates?
1. Cost
Because there is one less process than cold-rolled substrates, the production cost of galvanizing hot-rolled substrates is lower than that of cold-rolled substrates, mainly due to annealing costs and cold-rolled rolling costs, and the other processes are similar.
2. Quality performance
Because the hot-rolled substrate is only pickled and annealed to remove surface impurities, the surface is relatively rough, the zinc layer has better adhesion, and the coating thickness is biased towards 140/140g/m2. However, the thickness dimension is not as high as cold rolling, and since most of them are thick zinc layers, the thickness control of zinc layers is not uniform. There is little difference in mechanical properties, and some properties are even better than cold rolling.
3. Application fields
Because the dimensional accuracy and surface quality of the hot-rolled galvanized sheet are not as good as those of the cold-rolled substrate, and the thickness is thicker than that of the cold-rolled galvanized sheet, it is often used for structural components with low surface requirements but high strength and thickness requirements.
For example, the structural parts of home appliances such as washing machines and refrigerators, the internal structural parts of automobiles, the structural parts of automobile chassis, passenger car bodies, roof panels, highway guardrails, cold-formed steel, etc.
Because the cost of hot-rolled galvanized sheet is low, and with the progress of technology, the thickness of specifications is getting larger and larger, and the usage is gradually increasing.
4. Grade
Common brands of hot-rolled galvanized sheets are DD51D+Z, HD340LAD+Z, HR340LA, HR420LA, HR550LA, etc.;
Cold-rolled galvanized sheets correspond to DC51D+Z, HC340LAD+Z, HC340LA, HC420LA, HC550LA, etc.;
There is also a grade that does not specify whether it is a cold-rolled or hot-rolled substrate, such as DX51D+Z. Generally, this grade can be regarded as a hot-rolled galvanized sheet.
